A little more from Gretta ...
Liberal mainline denominations have been seriously wounded by their refusal to state what they actually believe ...
To find the future will require that the church let go of much of the past and, like each and every one of us does each and every morning, wake up to the realities this day brings and try to steer them toward a just and fruitful tomorrow. It is the best we can do. (page 47)
Do you think that we have been honest with each other? Do we perpetuate truth that always has to be unpackaged? Is this what we want to hand on to our children?
Can we find a way to express what we believe in clear, contemporary ways? For the sake of love! For the sake of each other! For the sake of the world!

I do not think that we are always honest... I think that we are spending to much energy on being "politically correct".
Honesty is admitting faith is spiritual and not historical or scientific.
How can people be honest about their faith these days? Especially the younger generations?
It's deemed "uncool" to be religious... it's a shame that "coolness" and peer pressure drive so many teens and young adults out of the church.
If faith communities want to survive then something needs to be done to captivate young minds, interest them in attending church and embrace their Lord unashamed of who may find out.
I don't think it is honest to keep promoting an imaginary deity. The problem is we need to replace God with a moral standard strong enough to rep[lace him
